Candy & Kitsch
The OG creator of candy heart brooches, Candy & Kitsch is an Australian based business making a wide range of products inspired by traditional candy hearts. Having just rebranded to a new name (brand identity design by Good Lucky), it was time for the website user experience to level up and match the newly premium feel.
The Problem
The original website felt DIY visually but was also a struggle to navigate from a usability perspective. A lack of solid collection organisation and content-based filtering meant 15+ pages of products had to be navigated to browse the full range. The premium offering of custom products had information-dense pages that were difficult to understand and didn’t fully utilise the years of social proof the business had collected. The site also struggled to communicate Jess’ tone of voice and missed opportunities to incorporate her witty personality into content.
The Solution
A thorough website audit and review provided the best foundations for the new website- the navigation was completely restructured and the product range reorganised to help get customers to their intended outcome faster. The custom product pages were totally revamped with a custom product visualiser to help customers better imagine the colour combinations and possibilities (rather than them needing to read through large blocks of information). A comprehensive new section for custom wedding products as well as an expansion of the Patreon sales page helps make users feel more confident and empowers them to actively engage or make a direct enquiry.
